For those who are not familiar with Samothrace, this is an opportunity to experience a myth. This island is mythical thanks both to its wild flora and fauna as well as the mystery that surrounds it with its mystic temples that emit this awe inspiring force.
Explore The Nature of Samothraki
Samothrace is a unique island, with the highest mountain on the Aegean, Saos mountain and the largest plane tree forest in Greece. It is characterised by rich vegetation, crystal clear waters, waterfalls, hot springs, traditional villages, that take us back in time and compose a unique landscape.
Beautiful streams and rivers as well as hot springs in the midst of rich vegetation compose a heavenly, to say the least, ambience for the visitor.
The famous Kavirian Rituals took place here, and the place were they were performed emits this force and energy.
It is connected by sea with the port of Alexandroupoli. Twice a day in the summer & and once a day, 6 days a week, in the winter. The trip to the island takes 2 hours. You may find further information on the island and its history here and also here about the famous winged victory of Samothrace.
The island’s visitor will need: Walking shoes because of the ground and its variety. Plastic shoes for the pebbles on the beaches. Beachwear. To check the ship’s schedules and the winds before staring out. If the guest brings a car, the hotel offers parking.
